Silk Fibroin-Based Bone Graft Substitute Shows Superior Regeneration

Posted: August 26, 2025 / Source: Pubmed Database

Researchers have created a bone graft substitute using silk fibroin, hyaluronic acid, and demineralized dentin matrix particles in a hybrid hydrogel. The hybrid hydrogel demonstrated excellent biocompatibility and mechanical strength in in vitro and in vivo experiments on rats and beagles. The SF/HAMA/DDM-50 hybrid hydrogel showed the best bone regeneration effect, offering a potential solution for alveolar bone defects and bone tissue reconstruction.
